Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 21, 2026
Wright Labs Home Assistant is a private, self-hosted household application. It uses Google OAuth to access Google Calendar data only after the Google account owner grants permission.
Google user data accessed
The application may access calendar information made available through the authorized Google Calendar account, including calendar names, event titles, dates, times, descriptions, locations, attendees, and other event metadata provided by Google Calendar.
How Google user data is used
Google Calendar data is used only to display household schedules, organize family calendar information, and support user-configured Home Assistant reminders or automations related to those schedules.
Storage and security
Calendar data and OAuth credentials may be stored or cached locally by the self-hosted Home Assistant system and may be included in administrator-controlled system backups. The system is operated for private household use and is not a public multi-user service.
Sharing and advertising
Google user data is not sold, rented, used for advertising, or shared with unrelated third parties. Data is processed only as necessary to operate the private Home Assistant calendar integration and by service providers involved in the underlying Google OAuth and Google Calendar functionality.
Data retention and deletion
Data is retained only as needed for the private Home Assistant installation, its configured history, and administrator-managed backups. Access can be revoked at any time from the Google Account security settings. Local Home Assistant data and backups can also be deleted by the system administrator.
Changes
This policy may be updated if the application's use of Google data changes. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.
Contact
Questions about this application's use of Google user data may be directed to the support contact shown on the application's Google OAuth consent screen.
